Carlos Tevez

Carlitos Tevez – Argentina #11 and Manchester City #32 – El Apache

Carlitos: Mexico is better than Germany

Carlitos talked to Clarin ahead of Argentina’s quarterfinal game against Germany.

I was more afraid of Mexico than Germany.

Because the Mexicans play better football. They took the ball from us in the first minutes of the first half and at the start of the second. We would have suffered more if we hadn’t struck at the right moments.

ManCity denies that Carlitos will move

Manchester City has claimed that Carlos Tevez will be at Eastlands this upcoming season. Of course that’s what teams always say, even if they’re selling, as they want to drive the price up. They also claim to not have received any formal bids, although the formal bids are usually just that: formalities.

Di Maria’s move to Real Madrid along with Gonzalo Higuain may make Real Madrid a tempting location for Carlitos. Add to that better weather and Spanish…we will see if he abandons his loyalty to the Blues.

Carlitos interview with Clarin

Why not think I can be a champion? Every night, I do. I have a hunger for glory so great that I can not imagine the great sadness there would be without the cup. I could not bear to lose on Saturday.”

It makes me really happy. It must be my way of playing. I give everything for every ball, and people identify with that. Hopefully, with all the boys, we can give them the joy we all hope for.

Tevez on getting subbed by Diego Maradona

Tevez in an interview on how he felt about his performance and two goals in Argentina vs. Mexico

I felt well, I asked for the ball at every opportunity and I didn’t understand the change. We couldn’t keep the ball but I am not the only guilty one when we can’t keep the ball.

“We knew Mexico would start strongly and would try and have the ball and hurt us. We couldn’t generate our game and getting the ball back was difficult. In the second half they kept the ball well and caused us problems.

“Yes, I was angry when I was subbed but it’s normal. Diego and I talked and he told me that he wanted me more as a striker than to come and drop deep, so I did that, but I needed a game like that to reaffirm I am well and I am happy and I feel hungry for glory with this shirt so I needed something like this

Real Madrid to buy Carlitos for £40 million?

Inter Milan appears to be less likely to win the Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez sweepstakes, with Real Madrid reportedly set to offer Manchester City £40 million for Carlitos.

Real Madrid will offer Carlitos £180,000-a-week to forgo his friendship with Noel Gallagher and leave Manchester City. That would leave Madrid with a frequent all Argentina front line of Gonzalo Higuain and Tevez.

Will the Blues accept? Manchester City would pocket £15 million after buying him from Manchester United for £25 million.

Carlitos on the double for Argentina!

Carlos repaid Diego Maradona’s confidence with two goals, although he was clearly in an offsides position in the first goal.

The second goal was this bombazo from 30 yards out.

Maradona: Only Messi has 30% the ability of Carlitos Tevez

Diego Maradona was asked by Buenos Aires newspaper La Nacion if any other nation had the attacking talent of Tevez and Messi. Maradona said:

Not even 30 per cent, at this World Cup I have not seen not even one who is 30 per cent of Messi. I do not know if tomorrow I will be called arrogant, but not even one who is 30 per cent of Tevez either.

Carlitos introduces Leo Messi to Oasis

Carlitos gave Argentina teammate Lionel Messi the first two albums of Oasis and told Leo that he had to listen to them. So Messi did on the plane and now he wants to reform Oasis if Argentina win the World Cup. The words of Leo Messi:

I have to say I wasn’t expecting much but it is some of the best material I have ever heard. They are absolutely amazing. We want to fly them over to Argentina for our celebration party. We just need them to name their price.

No word on whether Messi will be happy if Beady Eye (the new project of all the Oasis members minus Noel Gallagher) agree to play but Noel sits it out. Which would seem likely, since Noel can’t stand Liam and Argentina might have to beat England to win the World Cup.

The fact that Carlitos seems to be on the way out at Manchester City certainly can’t help either…

Carlitos will not start tomorrow, not even as goalie

Although Argentina hasn’t officially advanced, it is about 99.9% probable, so Diego Maradona has decided to change his starting lineup.

Per that decision, Carlos is not expected to start tomorrow against Greece. Not even as goalkeeper.

Mascherano talking with Inter Milan

Reports indicate that fellow Argentine Javier Mascherano is in talks to move to Inter Milan. Considering that both Carlitos and Mascherano have talked about being less than thrilled with life in England, the chance to reunite would seem quite enticing.

Benitez wants Carlitos. Carlitos isn’t thrilled with England. Italy is better language-wise. Inter Milan has quite a few Argentines already, including Zanetti, Cambiasso, Diego Milito, and now perhaps Mascherano.

But what will this do for Carlitos friendship with Liam and Noel Gallagher?
